Goodbye College... For Now

You all asked for this, my college update.

So I started in September terrified and knew no one, only that it was all about animals. Not knowing it was soo much more.. it has animals of course including mini farm, twilight room, reptile room and soo many more. You wont believe how much routine there is been put into this and all the animals welfare of looking after them.

But the animals are amazing with snakes, gerbils, Asian palm civet, and of course who can forget the meerkats, they all have their own personalities and schedule of feeding and cleaning out. Even though feeding was quite difficult working out in grams it was soo much fun and you got used to it. Then there was cleaning out which you may think gross cleaning out pigs must smell but its absolutely fine. Its fun going to the hay/straw shed and getting piles of waste in buckets haha.

Doing the routine every Friday is great because its like your working for future experience. Which is the main part of the college. Its all experience in what ever subject you pick.

The Animals

Animals are the main thing at this course which I love because I believe they are no.1 sorry humans. They are so friendly and each show personality of their own. Such as Toddy the Asian Palm Civet that I love, he is soo welcoming in the twilight room some will say nosey I say welcoming hehe. He is one of my favs.

But there are soo many more who love being loved. Feeding them make me feel happy because I know I'm helping them, even cleaning out gives them a new enclosure from us at the college. Which is great even though theses are wild animals well most of them they love visitors and being handled.

Gardening

yep this is also another thing I do at my college which is part of my course. All I can say about this is its soo relaxing doing weeding or planting new flowers. We see the difference in the appearance and its amazing. They only bad thing for me was the writing I can do gardening but I struggled writing about it. But all together I loved it even if it was only a 2 hour lesson each week.

(by the way I had animals 3 times a week and gardening 1 time a week)

Work Experience

I really struggled finding a placement for this one but guess what the teachers helped me again and got me a place at Holdenby House doing again gardening hehe

The people were lovely there and it was fantastic they also had dogs and horses and even different birds of prey. which was awesome ! I really enjoyed it there.

Plus it was soo beautiful there!

Assignments

I am now finishing college, I have one week left... Soo I have finished all my assignments !!!

I got a few passes, a couple merits but mostly distinctions which I'm soo happy about. My fav was of course the pick your topic and I made a book about the Asian Palm Civet. Which I love.

Altogether I had an amazing year I did have ups and downs but that was me, the teachers understood and I made some great friends. I hope my group will stay together for next year and if not wish me luck but I'll be doing all again.
